Common questions

The app will not open my photo

GREYN converts formats iOS uses internally — such as HEIC — before editing, so almost anything in your library should open. If a specific file fails, email it to us if you can; a file that will not open is a bug on our side, not on yours.

What resolution do I get when I save?

A single photo is saved at the full resolution of the original, as a high-quality JPEG. Carousel sheets are saved at 1080 pixels per slide, which is what social apps display. Video is saved at up to 1920 pixels on the long edge with a generous bitrate, so film grain survives the encode.

Why is there a limit on video length?

GREYN redraws every single frame at full quality rather than baking in a cheap overlay. That is memory-hungry, so clips are limited to 60 seconds. Trim the clip in Photos first, then bring it back.

Do I need an account?

No. GREYN has no sign-in, no account and no server. You never give us an email address or a password to use the app.

Does GREYN work offline?

Yes, completely. The app never needs a network connection to edit or export.

Where do my originals go?

Nowhere. Saving creates a new item in your photo library. Your original is never modified, moved or deleted.

Something is wrong or missing

Tell us. GREYN is made by one person and feature requests genuinely change what gets built next.
